About Me
Born and raised in Mississippi by Ben and Melissa Williams alongside my brother, Morgan.
It all started in pre-school when my teacher told my mom that every kid was drawing stick figures for their families but I was drawing bubble figures with five fingers… apparently, I was not the norm. Art has always come naturally for me. My mom encouraged me with art lessons during my early teenage years but I just didn't like it. I felt it was too restricted. Thankfully my high school art teacher, Mrs. Ingram, let me loose in her room. She understood that I see the world differently than the average guy. I see the world in 3D.
I took every art class I could at Jackson Academy. Senior year in AP Art, I wanted to challenge myself by doing two portfolios instead of the usual one. With Mrs. Ingram’s encouragement, I was successful in completing one portfolio for AP Drawing and Painting and a second portfolio for 3D Design. I received several gold and silver keys from the Scholastic Art Awards in Mississippi. In addition to being voted the Most Talented of my graduating class, I was also inducted into Jackson Academy’s 2016 Hall of Fame.
In the fall of 2016, I began my college career at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Industrial Design. Each of my professors have a wealth of knowledge about the industry. They inspired me and showed me that everything can be designed better whether it is for functionality or aesthetics. SCADPro has been one of the most influential, knowledgeable and beneficial programs I have ever been involved with. Before I even graduated I had worked with Clayco, Samsung Think Tank Team, and BMW. September of 2020 I started my professional career at Textron Aviation designing interiors of jets and propeller planes. Mid 2021 I was honored to be shortlisted in The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2021 for my senior project, Precedent.
I have traveled to 24 different countries and seen four New Wonders of the World. These experiences have opened my mind to many eclectic cultures and universal views. My travels have exposed me to one of the most curious men to ever live… Leonardo da Vinci. I have seen the original The Last Supper. I have seen the original Mona Lisa. In Rome I meandered through a gallery of his sketches and radical concepts for his time. Da Vinci had hundreds of sketchbooks filled with drawings he of objects he saw every day and would write down every question that popped into his mind. A question may have been "why is the sky blue?" or "why do people yawn?". It is because of Da Vinci’s curiosities and my own worldly experiences that I am inspired.
Cars fascinate me, specifically McLaren Automotive. There is no limit to the designs of automobiles. The process of technology becoming more efficient over the past 100 years has changed transportation design dramatically. With new technology emerging daily, I can tell a new revolution of vehicles is on the horizon. Magnets and electric engines are currently the superstar. But let’s not limit the new technology to cars. Trains or maybe a new form of transportation that has yet to be manufactured will take the stage next. I want to be in on the revelation of transportation design and help pave the way for a new era.
There are three types of people in this world: those who see, those who see when shown, and those who do not see. - Leonardo da Vinci
